Performance Audit Trainee Program

The Office of the Auditor General’s performance audit trainee program is unique in the world.

If you are in a post-graduate university program, consider joining us once you complete your Master’s degree.

We welcome graduates from a variety of academic backgrounds, including

  • public or business administration,
  • environmental studies,
  • social sciences,
  • applied sciences,
  • law,
  • engineering, or
  • other disciplines related to our work.

Over the course of two years, you will be assigned to several different performance audits and will receive on-the-job coaching from experienced professionals. We will supplement this with classroom training and self-learning, and we will pair you with a mentor who will help you to learn about our organization and help further develop your skills.

You will be part of a team responsible for producing reports to Parliament that provide Canadians with information on how well their tax dollars are being spent.

You will apply your university training to issues that touch all aspects of our lives as Canadians. From defense to the environment, from law enforcement to social programs, our performance auditing work is varied and challenging.

Watch for our job postings throughout the year.
