What We Offer
Excellent working conditions
Work-life balance
It is important to balance work and home life.
The OAG offers the possibility of working flexible hours, a compressed workweek and alternative work arrangements such as part-time work or telework.
In a survey conducted in 2006, 82% of employees said that the Office of the Auditor General is one of the best organizations to work for.
Awards and Recognition
At the OAG, we believe that employees should be recognized for demonstrating the values we promote. The “Bravo Program” was designed to recognize employees in various ways and in a timely fashion. The range of awards made available through this new program recognizes the diversity of tastes and is designed to ensure that employees are rewarded in a way that is particularly meaningful to them. The program provides for both formal and informal recognition of individual as well as collaborative efforts.
There are six types of recognition in the new Awards and Recognition program.
Diversity
The OAG is committed to reflecting the rich diversity of the Canadian society it serves. Canada is becoming more diverse and the fabric of Canadian society is changing. This is creating a need for policies, programs, and services that address these changes.
We strive to eliminate barriers to employment of under-represented groups during the application and selection processes. Tests are available in alternative formats, test duration may be adjusted to suit special needs, or specific technological aids can be provided.
We have policies and programs that promote a work environment that is free of barriers, with the goal of achieving a fully representative workplace where all feel valued for who they are and what they bring to the workplace.
Casual dress
As a progressive employer, we have adopted a business casual dress policy as appropriate for most situations.
Employee assistance program (EAP)
The EAP is a voluntary, confidential counselling and referral service for employees and their families.
