- On Saturday April 14, 2012, the Commissioner of the Environment and Sustainable Development will be in Toronto to speak at the Georgian Bay Forever “Vital Signs II” lecture series. This English-language event will feature experts who will talk about issues relating to Georgian Bay and the Upper Great Lakes. Click here for more information and registration.

- This week, the Commissioner of the Environment and Sustainable Development is meeting with representatives from Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada to discuss the ongoing work at Giant Mine near Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, in preparation for the upcoming chapter on federal contaminated sites to be tabled on 8 May 2012.

- Scott Vaughan will be a panelist at the Munk School of Global Affairs Graduate Conference on March 30, 2012. The conference, entitled “Not a Drop to Drink: Water Scarcity and Politics in the 21st Century”, will explore the causes of water scarcity, access to and ownership of water, and how water diplomacy will impact relations between states.

- On Tuesday March 13, 2012, Scott Vaughan will participate in a webcast in English on climate change, freshwater management and the role of science, hosted by the Munk School of Global Affairs at the University of Toronto. Joining him will be Gord Miller, Environmental Commissioner of Ontario, and David McLaughlin, President and CEO of the National Round Table on the Environment and the Economy.
