Ottawa, 17 November 2022—On Tuesday 6 December 2022, Karen Hogan, Auditor General of Canada, will deliver two performance audit reports to the House of Commons. Tabling is expected at approximately 10:00 am (Eastern Standard TimeEST). Descriptions of the reports are provided below.

The 2022 Reports of the Auditor General of Canada included in this release are:
Report 9—COVID-19 Vaccines. This audit focused on whether Public Services and Procurement Canada provided adequate procurement support to secure COVID‑19 vaccines, the Public Health Agency of Canada and Health Canada efficiently provided access to COVID‑19 vaccines, and the Public Health Agency of Canada and Health Canada’s surveillance of COVID‑19 vaccines was effective and timely.
Report 10—Specific COVID-19 Benefits. This audit focused on whether the Canada Revenue Agency and Employment and Social Development Canada ensured that COVID‑19 benefit payments were accurate and paid to eligible applicants and undertook timely procedures to recover overpayments and/or payments made to ineligible recipients. The audit also focused on whether the Canada Revenue Agency and Employment and Social Development Canada managed the COVID‑19 programs efficiently and measured their administrative effectiveness. Finally, the audit examined whether programs’ objectives were achieved and provided value-for-money outcomes.
As required by the Act, we audited Canada Worker Lockdown Benefit, Canada Recovery Benefit, Canada Recovery Sickness Benefit, Canada Recovery Caregiving Benefit, and Canada Emergency Response Benefit, including the Employment Insurance Emergency Response.
We also audited the COVID‑19 Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy program for employers.
